Hey guys,
So you may or may not have heard at this point that I got pretty jacked up during training, and spent a few days in the hospital. I just got approved to go med up next week. So it looks like I'll be joining the class that comes in on the 27th and hopefully getting out right after you guys finish finals. So look out for a visit from an Ensign Depman come Winter Term.

Ted Winslow - 2008 homecoming & 35 year celebration
Thanks to all who worked to make homecoming 2008 a very special event. It was a great weekend for me and the Chuckatuck boys!
I left Texas on Thursday evening and flew into Norfok Va, where my long time friend and Sig Ep brother Paul Gwaltney picked me up almost mid-night. We grabbed a little sleep and got up early to get some last minute work done (had to move a darn back-hoe) before we loaded up the RV. After a three hour drive we arrived in Durham NC where we met Sig Ep Bros Phil Hall, Frank Lyons, Don Carlson, and David Bordeaux for a great lunch. Pre party to the pre party
We drove into Elon arriving about 430PM. Yep drove that darn RV right onto campus. Tried to locate where we could park for the game on Saturday, but learned it was not allowed. Ah well
On to the Hotel to meet Dr. Leroy Howell Sigma Phi Beta class of 1951 and great family friend from Chuckatuck. He was tied up with Elon functions on Friday but assured us he would get a parking spot close to SPE in the tailgate section of the parking lot.
The party thrown by the local guys for us Alumni was really super. Seeing Dave Dickerson, Bob Pafe,, Doug Durante, Duane Whitt, Ron Butler, Stan Perry, Steve Helms and the crew was awsome. The food was great. The drinks flowed. But Ron made me do the darn Seargent at Arms stuff. Thats okay Frank and Whitt were quiet for the ceromony. The slide presentation was very done. I was really proud when Ron presented the original NC Mu charter. Great job Mi Amigo!!! but the party after the party was even better.
Running with Doug and meeting his son, seeing Dave try to make sure none of us were driving, and watching the interaction of the present group of brothers was a blast. We all got home safely.
But, a little sleep and off to the tailgate. If you missed the 19973 Mustang on display with "welcome back class of 1973" I hope you can get some pictures. Nancy Dickerson said she was going make them avialable. It was a great touch and really appreciated. Dr. Howell and his brother Virgil Elon Class of 1949. got parking spots right behind sig ep. Danny and Terry showed up and took some pictures. Not sure where they got off to. The food was great and the weather was perfect. Great tunout by alum and present brothers alike. The game was almost a downer, but true to colors the local brothers had a house party that rocked till the wee hours of Sunday. We tried to find some brothers to thank Sunday morning but depature was at hand. We had to drive that darn RV back to Chuckatuck (four hours). Get some sleep and head for Houston at 0530 AM.
Thanks guys for a great weekend.
best Regard

Zac Pope, interim AVC President
Fraternal Brother:
Happy New Year!
My name is Zachary Pope and currently I am serving as the interim president for the North Carolina Mu chapter's Alumni Volunteer Corporation. The chapter, originally chartered in April of 1973, ran into a variety of issues in the late 1990s and had its original charter suspended by the National Board of Directors to be re-chartered at a later date. After a successful colonization campaign to bring SigEp back to Elon University the North Carolina Mu chapter was re-chartered in January of 2007. With the fraternity's return to Elon, comes the return to a vital need for alumni involvement.
Currently the Alumni Volunteer Corporation (AVC) is in its infancy stages and is need of help of members and volunteers to establish a sound advising body for the undergraduate chapter at Elon University.
Because it is in its infancy, the AVC has interim positions available on the executive board until a formal election process can be conducted at an annual meeting to be held sometime in the fall to coincide with that of the University's homecoming proceedings.
I am writing to ask you to consider making a contribution to the AVC and the development of the undergraduate brothers in our North Carolina Mu chapter at Elon University. It is important that we make meaningful connections as alumni to undergraduates in order to preserve the history and experiences that we have been lucky enough to share in, and to help develop these undergraduate members into fine gentlemen that represent our organization well.
If you wish to contribute monetarily you can do so by donating to the Educational Foundation in care of the North Carolina Mu chapter. For more information on monetary giving please see <http://www.sigepfoundation.org>. If you wish to contribute your time as a volunteer or are interested to serve in one of the interim positions please feel free to contact me to receive more details about positions and needs the undergraduate chapter and AVC.
I hope that this e-mail finds you well and looking forward to a tremendous year in your own life as well as the life of our fraternity.
